140 metre long hydrant supply pipe with BLACKTECplus successfully laid

Within the framework of modifications being carried out on the transformer station on the Baenninger compound last December, a 140 metre long stretch of Blacktech pipe was successfully laid. The reconstruction work was necessary as access to the previously above-ground PVC-U piping would have been very limited due to the modifications.

A BLACKTECplus pipe measuring 160x14.6, SDR11 was used for the project. The pressure of the tap water is approximately 6 bar. The underground installation took place at a depth of frost-free soil in the sand bed. The company of Firma Fritz from Reiskirchen-Ettingshausen was commissioned to carry out this work. The pipe seams were connected using butt welding. In addition, two Baenninger 45° elbows were installed using electrofusion welding to create a 90° redirection. The connection to the hydrants was made via Baenninger flange connector.
